Of Mexico

poem by: Clinton Strong
Written on Oct 20, 2015

Dawn is rising slow,
In irradiated glow.
Found among the mirage,
of desert sands that bleed.
A summer desert rose
Of Mexico.

As day begins to flow,
lost inside of dreams.
I wait for you to know,
your heart belongs with me.
My summer desert rose
of Mexico.

As lovers often plead,
Tell me of your soul.
Wrap me in your arms,
and never let me go.
My Summer desert rose
of Mexico.

To fall onto my knees,
In searching disbelief.
The colors that you show,
Breathe life inside of me.
My summer desert rose
of Mexico.

Instead of feeling lost,
I found love internally.
As a little part of you,
Now resides itself in me.
My summer desert rose
of Mexico.

Dusk calls out your name,
It awaits of your return.
As now you drift away,
To stars you call your home.
My summer desert rose
of Mexico.
