The Light
This is a bit of my writing, comments are greatly appreciated!
The bellowing wind let me know she had arrived. You could feel her aurora radiating and absorbing the very essence of all things magic. There were two things I was sure of. She had come for me, and I wouldn’t make it through the night. Not without a miracle. If Cal didn’t come my fate was sealed. If he came his fate was sealed. Could he make the ultimate sacrifice? Destroy his one true love and save the enemy. I couldn’t see her but I knew she was right outside the door. A force like that could be felt from worlds away. The howling wind was replaced with metal splitting; she was ripping the door out of the wall. As darkness was replaced by blinding rays of witch light I saw her. Her curly black hair thrashing in the wind, deadly green slits for eyes. She was just a frightening as beautiful. By this time the whole in my leg had let most of my blood leave. I was lightheaded and on the verge of vomiting as pain shot through my body, her hands were on me. She was going to kill me, this was the end. Her icy long fingers found their way to my neck her grip tightening with every passing second. She started chanting I didn’t know the language, but the words felt dark. Her voice was a wicked song that you hated but couldn’t stand not to listen to. I could feel her icy magic traveling rapidly through my veins. All going to my core ripping me open from the inside out. Her grip too tight, her words too powerful all willing me to sleep. Cal and had prepared me for this I should be able to do something at least try and stop her. Think I told myself, but I was too crippled with fear to do even that. Helplessly I glanced at her stone hard face, as a menacing smile crept across its narrow frame, she was definitely enjoying this. Was it just me or was there a mixture of anger and jealousy in her eyes? My vision was blurring and my lungs were about to burst. The blackness was coming on rapidly a few more seconds and I would be at peace. I felt my body slam into the chilling marble floor as the walls caved in. Through my fog crowded mind I heard my name being screeched over and over. The voice was so pleasant and so familiar. It was calling me back to the light, out of the fog. The swollen mess that had become my face allowed me a glimpse of Cal. I recoiled in horror as she stood over his limp body. A blade of holy fire clenched in her frail hands. “Do you really think I wanted you?†she said with a mocking smile.†Your time will come soon, daughter of them all. But it’s not my place to take such a valuable life. He wants your blood on his hands, not me. I came for this little shit here. After all he’s the one who ripped my heart out and ran away with it. He should’ve known better than to mess with the devils daughter. Did you really think he loved you?†Before I had time to answer she swept the blade across his powerful chest. The vomit I had been suppressing came surging up. I doubled over in pain as my heart shattered. Cal, no god no not Cal. I loved him too much. I have to do something; I can’t just let him die. I braced myself on the wall as I pushed through the pain devouring my conscience. Standing over his lifeless body my knees gave out. As I came crashing down beside him I laid my head on his warm torso. My tears flowed into the river of golden blood pooling around his body
