A LOVE HATE SPORT

Football , soccer call it what you will 
It winds you up , elates you , puts you through the mill
Follow your team , and follow them with pride 
But always be sure of a roller coaster ride 

Whether your team is big or small, they are always  in your heart
And in your life , they become a very major part
At the ground , on tv or listening on the go 
You always will them to put on a solid show  

We win ,we lose, sometimes we'll take a draw 
As long as the efforts there and we are happy with what we saw 
For football can be frustrating , when it's all about the money
To disconnect from the fans , is so far away  from funny  

Football for the small clubs is a dog eat dog affair 
Always scrapping to stay alive and get a decent share 
At the very top right now , its so different to days gone by 
An autograph , a picture  often greeted  with a sigh 

You would  think that where they had came from , mostly from the lower ranks 
That they would be more considerate and remember who to thank 
Sadly respect is sometimes in very short supply 
For the obscene amount of cash today , is the reason why
