The past

poem by: Mary Jane
Written on Oct 03, 2016

The past can hurt you
And you don't even have a clue
It's silent and deadly and gets you at your lowest
It's the darkness in your mind
That you all try so hard to hide
It's the regrets from last night
Or the memory's you try to conceal
It's the constant fight
To keep going in life
The past is
All the memory's you hide and try to cover with self pride
All the hurt you feel
But you put up your shield
You try to block it out
But no matter how much you scream and shout,
It's still there creeping up on you
Just waiting for you to slip
They say your past can't hurt you
But they really don't have a clue
The scars it leaves In your memories
Is all to painfully real
But let it go and set yourself free
The past is the past just leave it be.
