Breakdown

I cast my gaze upon you and see you there no longer.
Decay. There are telltale signs if you're looking with the right eyes.
Mine are true and do not doubt me on this, there will be no victory.
Simply concede, at least to the possibility, that alone makes you stronger.

I concede nothing, for there is nothing to concede, mere fiction.
You spew it as if you lived it with every beat. Tantalising snippets,
contrivances of a kind dreamt only by the feeble romanticist clown.
Pitiful. There is no more fitting description for such a life writhe with contradiction.

You attempt to wound me and I cannot deny I bleed
but slain me you have not nor will you ever for I anticipate.
Grandiose in nature may your spectral visage be but it is illusion,
mere parlour tricks fed to you as if necessary. Damaging divisive screed.

You do yourself a cutting disservice, your attempts meaningless. But none of my concern
for I see clearly. Listen to the whispers and the shouts, for their meaning,
whilst unique in construction, are enunciated similarly. This is no coincidence.
Accept imaginary constants, needful and necessary flickers that necessitate your return.

How dare you? My tools may be meagre but they are forged in truth.
Wisdom seeps from my every pore and it is willing your destruction.
Its immediacy cannot be denied as it fills every angle, torturous
though it may be, it is licking at your heels. You feel them blister. This is proof.

I do not burn. This is conceptual impossibility. You succumb with ease
to a faceless magician. He lurks there now, feeding you poison
and calling it food. Your initial guise, accusatory, I met it with hatred
and ridicule. I used the word pitiful disingenuously but now in truth, I see disease.

Lies, surely. My energy is drained. I sought victory but now everything but defeat.
The middle. This is solid ground. Take refuge. Rest. This is where truth resides.
But surely truth is absolute? I believed this before. I will close my eyes, just for a moment.
Please do. The grey is compromise and necessary. Absolution is myth so feel the earth beneath your feet...

Josh Frye commented:
I'm was most inspired by the last lines. There is no black and white. Some styles you can play around with are AA BB where every two lines have a rhyme.I like when you make each lines words start with the same letters.I like an guideline to write poems sometimes it's like squeezing your creativity into it.
