This speaks volumes to my soul, Frank. I love this kind of poetry, and have written extensively along these lines myself. This is very eloquent, poignant and lovely.

Wonderful Frank.......also I remember the coal man walking through our house to the back yard holding the two corners of the coal sack at his shoulders......

Yeah you are right Ann....the cart full of sacks of coal, pulled by a giant shire horse with its massive horseshoe clad feet!...and tossing its head back to eat out of its nose bag ...lovely memories Ann...thanks for reminding me of that one....and thank you for your kind comment....ðŸ‘ðŸ»

I was born in 1954 but also was alive during the 1960's and I am glad that one of us has fond memories of those bygone days. My cousin, Taylor, used to chase the ice cream man, down the road cause his younger siblings would always buy ice cream from them. I also have some fond memories but a life time of regrets have only buried the good memories and have left the bad ones only! Great job and fantastic memories.

Thanks for your comment Roxanne…try putting some of your bad memories into poetry …I found it to be quite therapeutic…good luck Roxanne..
