Has a lifetime gone by? Surely it has
I met you when I was barely a man!
It was your smile......
It was the kindness in your eyes.....
It was your courage,shown in my behalf.....
It was the first time that I really felt love.
Although your efforts were genuine,how where you to know what I was.
A soul so damaged that I could not respond to the offer of your heart.
I tried to speak but powerful bonds held my voice.....
I wanted to show you,but I was paralyzed emotionally.
You........were gone in an instant........
A pain set in like I'd never felt before.
One that faintly remains even today.
Held in that moment of my early life,I remain there,as if a part of me has not been able to leave.
Until I grew enough that I could reach out and give back even just a little,to someone who meant so much.
So I say to you...... I am so sorry.......
my first love,my dearest memory.

Ah! no love like first love, they say we never forget our first love, and though we grow and form adult relationships, it's the innocence we will always remember...lovely poem.
