In Mosul fields
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
For a hundred years they tell us so
But some wear white on their chest
For peace, they say, not war is best
Though ISIS' knives make blood to flow
Where are the Dead, tanks through Mosul show
They litter the streets as Daesh crow
Their faith is right- then kill the rest
In dusty fields.
Again take up guns ‘gainst the foe.
To us from pleading hands they throw
To bring back peace at their behest
Through war so we may give them rest
In every field.
With Armistice Day day comming up and seeing a white poppy I thought I would write this based on John McCrae's famous In Flanders Fields
