The Devil and The Old Lady
The Devil and the old lady
I saw a little lady fall asleep by the fire, fireplace there.
Oh I can still hear the creak'n of that old rock'n chair
There, in a darkened corner, stood someone with a sheepish grin
it was the old devil he'd , let himself in.
He thought he would deceive the old lady while she slept
He thought he could give her bad dreams, as she dreampt.
He thought himself, man of the hour , the voice of doom
but the old lady awoke, and she was armed with a broom.
Awe....She beat that old devil with the broom in her hand
and she smacked him back down, when he tried to stand
finally after a battle, the old lady one control , she kept smacking
him with the broom, and said, you'll never get my soul.
He said, ok, ok, I can't take any more, and he left just like he came
right out the front door
