When They Come

poem by: E.J. Waling
Written on Jul 30, 2026

When they
come.
Appear.
Instantly
among.
No
grand
entrance.
Simply
here.
Slow
approach.
Steady
steam,
pressure
release.
Melding,
molding.
Molding
old into
new.
Small
beginning.
Barely
there,
noticeable.
Suddenly
everywhere.
Doing
everything.
Changing,
making new
rules.
New world.
Left behind.
Shunted
aside.
Placed
in a
virtual
bowl.
Infinite
virtual
worlds.
New
realties.
Endless.
