Colourblind

You can point at red
and some people will still swear
it isn’t there.
Not because they’re blind
but because seeing it
would make it theirs.
They talk truth about everyone else,
every mess, every failure,
every broken thing
except the one in their own hands.
They will never say:
I’m here because I fucked up.
And that’s the difference.
Everything is accountability.
Your strength.
Your mess.
Your life.
Did you train?
Did you finish?
Did you fix what you avoided?
Time isn’t the problem.
Excuses just borrow its name.
You get one life.
No refunds.
You don’t get to ask the world for more
when you refuse
to work for it.
