Ika Moana, Ko Te Tohora

Content Note: Journey, companionship, endurance, and reverence.

Ko Te Tohorā with a call like a Kuia,
her wail commenced our ride.
Gently bathed by the mighties—
Marama and Matariki—
our path lay clear and bright.

Ko Te Tohorā, the nurturer,
hikers nestled softly by her side.
We strolled on with Te Tohorā,
breathless, yet in perfect stride.

Honoured journeys,
both near and far,
are lovingly remembered with aroha.
Memories remain with sunny smiles,
and a staunch salute
to Te Tohorā.
