International Mens Day
We walk a road few ever see,
born from struggle, carved from stone.
Boys raised in the quiet corners,
men shaped in the shadows of expectation.
We’re told to stand tall even when broken,
to fight battles no one names,
to protect, provide, endure
yet rarely are we protected in return.
From streets that forget our stories
to homes where silence swallows hope,
the disadvantaged fall hardest
and rise with no applause.
Our lives run shorter than our sisters’,
our grief heavier, our voices dimmer.
Too many brothers vanish by their own hand,
carrying storms that no one saw.
But today, we speak.
Today, we honour the unseen weight,
the quiet courage,
the men and boys who keep going
even when the world forgets they’re hurting.
This day is ours
not for ego,
but for truth.
For the hope that one day,
we won’t just survive
we’ll be understood.
