TWILIGHT OF THE GODS
Funny how time passes by where do the good times go
She said to me why do you pin yourself to the house
I chuckled to myself I should have answered tired of going South
Yes, I have been North not to mention East, and I have been West
As far North as New York cutting down to Pennsylvania no contest
II
New Jersey gave me the blues so I off to Maryland quite a fairyland
West Virginia with its charming scenery push me on to my gal Virginia
Should I go West or should I go South a coin toss Carolinas here I come
And none stop in Georgia to Florida staying here in the sunshine state
My home is in Milwaukee I miss the rivers and the lake no Sir I won't be late
III
Go North young man the spirit said to me Alabama is the route to follow
Trod North till you reach Tennessee a stone frow from Kentucky tomorrow
Indiana wants me lord and Illinois need me but my home is in Milwaukee
Lovely Wisconsin a marriage of water twin daughters howdy Michigan
Should I tell her my voyages have taken me far East West is yet to come
IV
Iowa you treat me nice till I reach Nebraska the stench in the air hot sands.
Off I go west to Colorado I can see the mountaintop and my lovely suntan
Oh California or burst left my heart is in Paris till I landed in Sacramento.
Have I why not on to Washington on top of the world now off to Minnesota
Now time has slowed my steps the longing for adventure tastes rather dull
V
Please let me rest a bit my heart is not in it my bones are weary I feel Drewery.
The road from Saint Lucia to the United States has been paved with excitement.
I dare not say it was my strength no Sir Jehovah God leadeth the way.
A friend for sure a father and more his love make you sour won't be bored.
All thanks to Almighty God Jehovah who lived forever and ever good bye.
